This course lays out in simple form the essentials for understanding alcohol and drug problems, for making an assessment of the individual, for giving appropriate help within one's own competence and for making decisions on when to make professional referrals and when to seek the advice of others.
The background of students may be diverse, but whatever the background, the aim of this course is to enable the students to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to help the suffering individual and his/her family members into recovery.
